A few weeks ago the PR team from HALL Wines contacted me about attending an upcoming party celebrating the release of their flagship Kathryn Hall Cabernet Sauvignon. I was super excited as I’ve heard so much about this wine. The release parties are being hosted in several cities across the US to bring together wine lovers, HALL fans and foodies. The event here in Chicago was held at the rooftop bar at the Dana Hotel last week and was a fabulous party. It was really fun to meet so many other wine lovers and people who are huge fans of this fantastic Cab. Kathryn Hall was also there, which was a really nice treat for everyone….and I, of course, think it’s pretty cool that she spells her name the same way I do!!
In addition to attending the main event, I was also invited to attend the pre-event which was an educational appellation tasting. The tasting was hosted by current HALL president Mike Reynolds. It showcased the diversity of Cabernets from different growing regions within the Napa Valley. We tasted six different Cabs; each one very unique and different from the next. It was so interesting to learn about how about the climate and soil affect the different appellations, and then get to taste those difference first-hand. I really loved this part of the event!
The newly released 2012 Kathryn Hall Cabernet Sauvignon was recently rated 97+ points by Robert Parker. It’s right on target to use #CrazyGoodCabernet to describe this wine!! If you are a Cab fan, this is definitely one to add to your collection!!
A little bit about HALL Wines:
