Monthly Musings – January 2016

Published: January 15, 2016 By Urban Foodie Kitchen Last Updated: January 15, 2016 Leave a Comment

Happy New Year – What’s new for 2016?

Petit St. Vincent

I definitely wish I was in this photo right now!  It was taken a few years ago in Petit St. Vincent which is a beautiful, tiny island in the Grenadines!

This is actually going to be my last monthly musings post.  While I enjoy sharing some tips, tricks and favorites with you each month, I really want to spend my time this year developing and sharing more great food-related content with you.  That content will include creative recipes for two, at least one post each month focused on entertaining – whether that’s a party snack, or a great dinner party menu.  I’ll keep sharing my favorites wines, along with some paring suggestions.  The new focus will result in more frequent posts, I’m planning on 2-3 per week, as well as more cooking tips and step-by-step photos.

I’ll also continue to post about some of my favorite restaurants, both here in Chicago as well as when I’m traveling.  Along with a post or two from any foodie events I attend throughout the year.

I’m also starting a Pinterest board of Must Make Recipes; favorites from other bloggers that I’m dying to try.  These are the same ones I’ve been sharing in the Blog Love section each month.  Follow-up the board to keep up with my latest favs!!

If you still want a regular round-up of my recent posts, please subscribe to my weekly email, each Friday morning you’ll receive an email with the posts from the prior week.  Plus if you subscribe you receive a copy of my eBook – 10 days of Easy Lunches when I release it next month!

RECIPE ROUND-UP

Here’s a quick round-up of posts from the past 3o days just in case you missed one:

Oak + Char in Chicago’s River North

Parmesan Truffle Cauliflower Mashed Potatoes

Meatloaf Muffins with Sweet Chili Glaze

Caramelized Onion Dip

Deconstructed Skillet Lasagne

Top 10 Recipes of 2015

I’m looking forward to a great year filled of some amazing recipes.  I hope you like slight the changes that will be coming to the blog.  Enjoy!!
