Description

This red sauce is so quick and easy to make with less than 10 minutes of hands-on time it will make you re-think store-bought pasta sauce!

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup diced yellow onion
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tsp dried basil
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground pepper
  • 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tsp red wine vinegar

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a saute pan over medium heat.  Add onion and saute for 4 minutes.  Add garlic and saute for an additional minute.
  2. Add basil, oregano, thyme, salt and pepper.  Saute for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the tomatoes and vinegar.  Stir to combine.  Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 30 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 6 days or freeze for up to a month.
