Wine Wednesdays - Whispering Angel Rosé

Whispering Angel is great, affordable French Rosé!

    Whispering Angel Rosé

Some say Rosé is a summer wine, which I'd agree with, especially in the sparkling variety, however I really like Rosé and tend to drink it all year long.  Rosé is a really good option for both red and white wine drinkers.  If you're normally a red drinker, you'll find Rosé to be a nice lighter alternative, while often keeping some of those berry flavors you tend to find in many reds.  And if you're normally a white drinker, Rosé will give you a bit more depth and flavor than many whites and is a good transition if you are looking to start drinking red wines more often.

One of my favorite things about Rosé is when Rosé season kicks off it means the weather is warming, which is always a happy occasion here in Chicago!  Rosé is perfect for leisurely summertime lunches, Saturday afternoon drinks on the patio and Sunday afternoon backyard BBQs.  I've recently been making an effort to sample many different types of Rosé and Whispering Angel Rosé has become one of my early favorites.  This one is a pretty light pink color and has a lot of nice berry flavors.  I would agree with the winemaker's assessment that this is a very drinkable wine, and at about $18 per bottle definitely a good choice for everyday drinking!
