While I'm not 100% certain, I think my love of wine started during a trip I took to Europe in college. I remember being in Paris, and also in Italy, trying lots of different types of wines. These days I really enjoy just about any varietal of wine, however like most people I do have my favorites. When it comes to white wine, for a long time my favorite has been Chardonnay. I'll never turn down a nice oakey, buttery California Chardonnay!
Lately I've been tasting more and more Pinot Gris and it is quickly becoming another one of my favorites, especially for drinking on warm, sunny afternoons. For this week's post I tasted the last of my samples from Willamette Valley Vineyards, their 2014 Pinot Gris. This is a nice balanced wine with both citrus aroma and taste. It's an easy drinking wine that would pair well with everything from cheese, to salad, to seafood.
At about $16 per bottle this is a great everyday wine and I would certainly add some to my wine stash!
